Laser treatment is one of the most popular methods for hair removal. Although it’s an expensive treatment, many people prefer this to other methods because it gives guaranteed results. But before you rush out to a salon, you should also be aware of the various side effects associated with laser hair removal.

You may notice a few side effects after undergoing the treatment, although this may differ from person to person. Some of the common side reactions of laser hair removal that you may experience are:

* Redness in the area where the laser treatment is applied. It may last for a week or more. This is most common symptom observed in the bikini area and the armpits.

* People who have dark skin may develop blisters. They will disappear with time, in about ten days or so. You must avoid touching the blisters as they can get infected and worse, if broken, they will leave scars on your skin.

* Some people may experience a lightening of the skin whereas others may see their skin becoming darker around the area where the treatment was given. This is a side effect of laser hair removal may last for months.

* Change in color of beauty spots (moles) in the treated area.

These side effects usually occur in people who have sensitive skin or when the treatment is applied by an inexperienced person. Therefore, proper care should be taken. You should always remember a few things before going for this laser hair removal treatment and to avoid the side effects. They are:

* Do your due diligence and get all the information, not only about the treatment itself but also about the salon or clinic where you are planning to undergo the laser treatment. It should have a good reputation and have experienced staff on the payroll. You must only go to professionals to avoid any damage being done to your skin by unskilled staff.

* Discuss everything with the clinic about your skin type and be sure to inform them if you have a sensitive skin. * To avoid fever blister formation, especially on the upper lip, make sure that you take an anti viral medication.

* At least 2 months before taking the treatment, avoid using any photosynthesizing medicines. The use of Accutane or tetracycline may highly aggravate the side effects of laser hair removal.

If you act on the above, you may save yourself a lot of grief so that you are sure to get your money’s worth from your laser hair removal treatment.

By: Chonticha Marijne

About the Author:

We all know the importance of personal skin care. The opinion on how-to (for personal skin care) differs from person to person. Some people believe that going to beauty parlours every other day is personal skin care. Others believe that personal skin care is just a matter of applying some cream or lotion on your skin, every now and then. Then there are people who think that personal skin care is an event that happens once a month or once a year. Still others busy themselves with personal skin care all the time. However, personal skin care is not that complicated and neither is it that expensive (considering how beneficial it is). Personal skin care is following a routine or a procedure for attending to the needs of your skin.

Even before you start with a routine, you need to determine your skin-type (oily, dry, sensitive, normal etc) and select the personal skin care products suitable for it (you might have to experiment with a few personal skin care products). Here is a routine that should work for most people with normal skin.

The first thing on this routine is Cleansing. The three main ingredients of a cleanser are oil, water and surfactants (wetting agents). Oil and surfactants extract dirt and oil from your skin and water then flushes it out, thus making your skin clean. You might have to try a couple of cleansers before you find the one that suits you the best. However, you should always use soap-free cleansers. Also, you should use Luke warm water for cleansing (hot and cold water, both, cause damage to your skin). Take care that you don’t over-cleanse your skin and end up damaging your skin in the process.

The second thing on the this routine is exfoliation. Skin follows a natural maintenance process wherein it removes the dead cells and replaces them with new skin cells. Exfoliation is just a way to facilitate the skin in this process. Dead skin cells are not capable of responding to personal skin care products but still consume these products, hence preventing them from reaching the new skin cells. Thus removing dead skin cells is important in order to increase the effectiveness of all personal skin care products. Generally, exfoliation takes it place just after cleansing. As with any personal skin care procedure, it’s important that you understand how much exfoliation you need. Exfoliate 4-5 times per week for oily/normal skin and 1-2 times per week for dry/sensitive skin. Exfoliate a couple of times more in hot and humid weather.

Next thing on this routine is moisturizers. This is one of the most important things in skin care. Even people with oily skin need moisturisers. Moisturisers not only seal the moisture in your skin cells, but also attract moisture (from air) whenever needed. Use of too much moisturiser can however clog skin pores and end up harming your skin. The amount of moisturiser needed by your skin will become apparent to you within one week of you using the moisturiser. Also, applying the moisturiser is best when your skin is still damp.

The last thing on this routine is sunscreen. A lot of moisturizers (day-time creams/moisturisers) come with UV protection so you can get double benefits from them. Such moisturisers are recommended for all days (irrespective of whether it is sunny or cloudy).

Again, experiment with various products and also with the amount you need to apply. What gives you best results is the best personal skin care recipe for you. However, if you have some kind of skin dilemma, it is best to consult your dermatologist before you actually start using any personal skin care products.

By: Marc Carson

About the Author:

Since time immemorial, perfume is the object of both men and women’s fascination. We love to smell good and perfume with its captivating smell help us enticing others especially the opposite ***. Perfume is meant to enhance our overall personality. After a research, scientists have concluded that no two human beings smell alike.

Similarly the taste of perfume also differs from person to person. While some prefer stronger smell, others prefer milder perfume. Apart from being a luxurious item, perfume has become a necessity among today’s men and women. With the growing demand, perfume manufacturers have become more innovative and as a result, there are so many brands of perfumes available in different fragrances. What’s more, some perfume manufacturers even claim to customize perfume as per their client’s body aroma!

Perfume can be available in different sizes and price range. While some are very costly, there is also discount perfume, cheap perfume available to meet the requirements of the consumers. The smell and quality of ingredients used in a perfume usually determines its price. Of course leading brands do have their own influence while deciding the cost of their perfume product.

With Perfumes that are available in a wide range and varieties, choosing a perfect perfume is a difficult task. if your perfume selection is correct, it will surely make you smell fresh and even people will be attracted to you, but on the other hand if your selection goes wrong, it can makes your admirers flee away too! Hence, it’s very important to choose a perfume whose fragrance complements your skin type and natural aroma of your body.

The scent of your perfume should be subtle enough that others would love to stay around you and on the other hand shouldn’t be too strong to make others cringe with constant sneezes! While choosing a suitable perfume, it’s a good idea to try spraying sample perfumes directly onto your skin to know if its suits your skin or not. Its suggested not to try more than three fragrances at one time coz your nose will lose its ability to tell the difference.

After you are satisfied that the perfume’s fragrance, don’t hurry up to buy it. Try on a sample of that particular perfume and leave it on for a day. You will be able to know if the perfume suits your body, or any other possible allergies or headache, and even if the scent is losing or not from this simple exercise.

Now some do’s and don’t about perfume use:

Don’t keep an already opened perfume for long. Once opened it should be used else the fragrance will fade. Also direct exposure to sunlight or extreme temp can change the scent of your perfume, hence should always be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct light.

Too much overdoing of perfume application won’t make you smell any better! Hence stop spraying extra perfume over your garments, neck, and even hair. Also it’s not a good idea to put fragrance directly on furs or fabrics as it might stain. You want to please yourself and those who are closest to you with your fragrance. Anything beyond that is considered as overdoing.

The perfect time to apply perfume is right after a shower as the pores of our body is open then and it soaks up the scent of the perfume. Those who have dry skin should apply more perfume.

It’s a good idea to change perfume according to the season. Stronger perfumes are required for winter as the perfume scent gets reduced with the dip in temperature. You can dab your perfume in usual places such as on the wrist, the inside of the elbow, neck or even the back of the knees. But restrain from applying it behind the ears as it might blend with the skin secretions and create a bad smell.

By: Roberto Sedycias

About the Author:
